Focus Areas and Key Measures
Work-Life Balance and Organisational Culture
We support flexible working, accommodations for family and caregiving needs, and are committed to maintaining a positive work environment. Our culture encourages open communication, psychological safety, and team collaboration, as outlined in our Respect & Inclusivity Pledge.
Gender Balance in Leadership and Decision-Making
Our senior management team skews female and we actively seek to diversify leadership through inclusive recruitment practices. Leadership roles are monitored for gender balance, and internal progression is supported via mentorship and leadership training.
Recruitment and Career Progression
Our recruitment processes mandate outreach to underrepresented groups and require unconscious bias training for hiring personnel. We participate in schemes like ScreenSkills “Leaders of Tomorrow” to fast-track women and underrepresented talent into senior roles.
Gender Dimension in Content and Research
Across our productions, especially in research and storytelling, we actively seek to reflect gender diversity and avoid perpetuating stereotypes. Our commitment includes local hiring and collaborative fieldwork in locations like Indonesia and Malaysia to include diverse perspectives in our content.
Prevention of Gender-Based Violence and Harassment
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment, bullying, or discrimination.
Reporting mechanisms include:
- Confidential email (safeguarding@freebornemedia.com)
- Named safeguarding representatives on each project
- Call-sheet notices and in-person briefings
All team members sign a contractual agreement to uphold our equality and safeguarding policies.
